THE BUTTERFLY EFFECT
14 Dec 2019 - 12 Jan 2020 ‘The Butterfly Effect’ is the idea that the smallest of things can have chaotic impacts in any aspect of our lives. When a butterfly flaps its wings, it moves a molecule of air, which moves another molecule and another and eventually causes a storm. An act or decision no matter how small can cause a chain of events that can have massive implications in the future.
Is everything in the world connected and does every action have an equal or opposite reaction? What could have happened if young Adolf Hitler was not rejected by The Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna? Or the targeted Japanese city Kuroko was not cloudy on the day Nagasaki was bombed? Can throwing a plastic bottle on the road possibly have a calamitous outcome?
The butterfly effect makes science and predictions less accurate and questions freewill. We believe that we can predict weather and that we have control over politics and economy. But the truth is that the systems around us are chaotic and are prone to sudden changes. As humans, our powers are limited.
We are calling on artists to explore the complexity of cause and effect and the resulting chaos through works of art. Through these artworks, the viewer can experience how the human brain is beautifully designed in turning something so chaotic to order using art. We urge artists to explore the unknown in nature, the current aesthetic, urbanization, and other conditions that result in natural chaos. But also, small repeated actions by individuals over time can lead to global effects. It’s about striving to achieve absolute beauty, balance and solace even in an unpredictable world where the future of mankind is at stake.
We hope to bring far reaching impact on viewers through small changes. We hope your artworks can bring awareness to the beauty and fragility of nature and your works could be that very flap of the butterfly wing.

INNER STRENGTH
Recent works by SRINIVASA RAO M 7 Dec 2018 - 6 Jan 2019
"Inner Strength" is a body of work that sculptor Srinivasa Rao has been working on for the last three years.
As a sculptor, Srinivasa Rao has surpassed the technical barriers and entered the phase of connecting the subconscious self directly with the work, a rare quality given the limitations of the medium.
The Bulls or Demi-Animal forms are in highly energetic action, vigorous movement and gesture. One can find the treatment of varied color, texture and form in these sculptures.
His Super Betty, the urban stylish chick holding many mirrors in more than two hands is in her usual swing, in high spirit, also in some, she is in her ecstasy and longings inviting the onlooker to mull over the consciousness of the inner self beyond the
physicality.
The vehicle series of demi-forms with birds are unique in expression, treatment and aesthetics. This series speaks about the relationship of human with nature and the transformations.
The color scheme is lively and stands out in each work. The treatment of form is in a mix of abstraction and the touch of realism. One can observe a playful approach in the whole process of work.
In these three series of Sculptures in Bronze we can see a common thread of connection which reflects Srinivasa Rao’s introspective mood of finding the inner self, in a constant communication between his inner and outer being in relation with his surroundings and nature.
